.
The WW1 Group walks every Wednesday morning throughout the year (subject to weather and leader availability) - except for Christmas & Boxing Day!
.
Walks are of 2.5 to 3.8 miles or so at an easy pace (with only gentle hills and not too many stiles) within about 15 miles of Congleton, finishing with a pub lunch.
.
(If you'd prefer longer walks, try our companion WW1 extra group. And, if you aren't sure which group would be best for you, we allow you to be a member of
both groups - and choose whichever walk suits you best.)
.
Walk details are emailed the weekend before, confirming start point, grade of walk and meeting time. Car sharing is encouraged.
.
Waterproof clothing is essential, as are reasonable walking boots/shoes. Walking poles are useful on uneven ground.
.
Our walks occasionally require crossing fields with horses and cattle. We do not allow dogs.
.
We encourage all Group Members to lead a small number of walks.
.
(The WW1 extra archive with brief details of over 200 of our previous walks can be found "up in the Cloud"
